Zona Franca del Pacífico

The epicenter of economic development in the Valle del Cauca

The Background

The Pacific Free Trade Zone is a state-of-the-art private international hub featuring a world-class industrial and logistics platform. Its extensive service infrastructure provides an ideal setting for streamlined operations

The context

For 8 years, the Pacific Free Trade Zone was hampered by an outdated website that lacked essential features, failed to represent the company’s brand, and failed to connect with its target audience.

The solution

We proposed developing a new website that would convey a sense of modernity, freshness, and institutionalism. We identified that the park’s value proposition was not being communicated effectively, so we proposed reforming the website to highlight the park’s benefits, showcase its state-of-the-art infrastructure, and give greater visibility to the available spaces within the Pacific Free Trade Zone. Additionally, we revamped the case study section and highlighted the flagship companies that already had a presence at this free trade zone to make it more attractive for new businesses.

Contributions to the project

Support from a multidisciplinary team that analyzes and provides solutions to the client’s objectives.

Research

We conducted a benchmark study of other free trade zones worldwide to identify best practices, content structure, design trends, and engaging functionalities.

Site Structure and writing

We modified the content structure to highlight the benefits of the Pacific Free Trade Zone and changed the writing style to a more approachable and persuasive tone.

Web design and development

We developed a design proposal that evokes modernity and minimalism. It conveys formality without sacrificing freshness.

The website

Spotlight on recent news and milestones section.
Services section on the homepage.
User-friendly layout that avoids monotony.
Interactive infographic design that allows users to view free trade zones by hovering over map icons.
Good typographic practices allowed us to highlight and prioritize the content.
We used graphs and maps to present benefits in an easily digestible format for the reader.
By using guides, color palettes, and other elements, we were able to establish clear connections between information, its location, and its context regarding the number of countries to which the Pacific Free Trade Zone exports.
Numerical and statistical data were diagrammed to simplify understanding of abstract or complex concepts.
We completely redesigned the case studies section to match the approved graphic style.
The entire section of available spaces has been reorganized and categorized by property type.
Every listing has a pop-up highlighting key details.

The results

The new website employs a minimalist design with generous white space to draw attention to the Pacific Free Trade Zone's key selling points, such as available spaces. Typographic hierarchies create a clear distinction between sections and content, enhancing overall user experience.
